Step Twelve

"Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps,
we tried to carry this message to compulsive Overeaters and practice these principles in all our affairs.Ē

Leader's Share and Step Questions

The OA 12 & 12 begins with a beautiful meditation on just what it means to be healed. This is, however, not the end of the journey. We still havenít arrived. It takes real work to persist in this program. Rather than let up and rest on our laurels, many long timers will tell you that this is a persistent, progressive disease. It doesnít go away, but rather pesters all of us at one time or another.

So what is the way forward? There is nothing for it except to pick up our tools, and continue to put one foot in front of another. We who have received a spiritual awakening and experienced the miracle of physical, emotional and spiritual healing have been given two jobs to do. Personally I will never forget being told by my first WTS leader that Step 12 is required. If I want to keep what Iíve got, I have to share what I know. I need to support the fellowship, giving service wherever I am asked to.

I need to practice these principles in all my affairs.

Honesty
Hope
Faith
Courage
Integrity
Willingness
Humility
Love
Discipline
Patience/ Perseverance
Awareness
Service

Think about what it means in your life to practice step 12. Are you able to see where you have practiced these principles?

What are you doing to share your program?
