His will for us and the power to carry that out.

STEP ELEVEN, PART TWO
My name is Shlomo.
I am a food addict and compulsive overeater.
Step Eleven tells us that we have to use prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God. The Big Book directs us to integrate prayer and meditation with our other step actions in order to achieve this objective. The specific directions on how to do it give us a discipline of daily actions during the day, in the morning, and at night.
Let us get to the assignments.
1. Read the Big Book page 86: "When we retire at night...corrective measures should be taken."
This is step eleven at night integrated with the other steps as a nightly review. Mark the sentences that resonate with you. Pay special attention to the following: use of steps 4-9 in the nightly review, love and kindness, helping others, what could we have done better, not to drift into negativity, prayer. Compare step eleven at night with step ten -similarities and differences. Reflect and share with us.
2. Read step ten in the A.A 12&12.
In this book step eleven at night is discussed a nightly review in the chapter on step ten. This is the reason why a lot of people call the nightly review a step ten. Names are not that important only action is. But different names may be confusing and therefore we will stick with the Big Book definition, since it is the textbook of the steps. Mark the sentences that resonate with you. Pay special attention to the following: evening discipline, balance sheet, new additional information added to the working of the nightly review. Reflect and share with us.
3. Read step ten in the OA 12&12.
Mark the sentences that resonate with you. Pay special attention to the following: daily review , new information added to the working of the daily review. Reflect and share with us.
4. Step eleven at night ACTION
Although it is preferred to do this work at night, it can be done at a different time of the day if one cannot do it at night.
A) I suggest you get a big notebook and do the nightly review in writing on a daily basis.
B) I suggest you make a written list of questions you have to answer and things you have to do. Use The Big Book as the main source and the other two books as useful additions.
C) I suggest that when you do this step you write down your answers to the questions and the things you have to do. If there are actions you cannot do that night write down when you intend to do them and commit to doing them.
