Step Twelve

Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps,
we tried to carry this message to compulsive eaters
and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

A Life Restored

She sees beauty in the rainbow after the storm; she sees splendour in the early morning sunrise. She enjoys the brilliance of music and the stroke of a paintbrush on a canvas. She loves to write words that linger in the heart and sing to songs on the radio. She likes the challenge of something new. She delights in the company of others and also her own.

She takes pleasure in the simplest of things, a smile, a wink or a kind word softly spoken. She loves to watch the waves tumble to shore. She likes to hear the sounds of children playing in the park. She enjoys walking in the rain and the smell of freshly popped corn.

She loves to meet new people and delights in hearing their story. She takes great pleasure in spending an afternoon curled up with a good book. She wonders at the patterns made by frost on the windowpanes and is comforted by a warm log fire. She is satisfied in a job well done and takes pride in doing her best.

She marvels at God's power and takes shelter in His compassion. She wonders at the song of the whales and is in awe at the delicate path of life. She values good friendships and places honesty to the fore. She treasures knowledge and consideration. She values the intricacy and frailty of life above all things. She walks with faith, holds on to hope and carries her dreams on her journey. Today is a gift, her yesterdays are forgiven and her tomorrows but a dream. She lives for today the best way she can and knows it is enough.
