The Term of Service for all TRG Coordinators and Meeting Leaders is one year, beginning January 1 and ending December 31. All TRG Trusted Servants are encouraged to renew their terms since our organization requires certain technical skills and we want to utilize skilled Trusted Servants for as long as possible. We do rotate, however, and because we have many support groups, many times a coordinator will move from one support group to another. If a Coordinator or Meeting Leader find they are unable to fill their committed term of service, they are asked to give a two-week notice to TRGAdm along with a recommendation of their replacement if possible.

The specific requirements for Trusted Servants and Meeting Leaders are itemized below. Please also keep in mind that Trusted Servants have administrative duties and are not recovery gurus. We are all bozos on the same bus and none of us govern. In many TRG "jobs", however, we must delegate. Delegating means instructing, supervising and mentoring. A few members may object to that but we must remind them that our group depends on working together as a team and that requires a learning curve for some. Most members understand this. It is important that all our Trusted Servants understand the importance of appropriate sharing in the support groups of our various divisions. There are six of them: Recovery, Discovery, ODAT, Meetings, Business and Special. Whether your group uses strict 12 Step Protocol as in our Recovery Division or informal sharing as in our Discovery Division, it is left up to the Coordinator to honor these protocols. In the event someone is unruly or in violation of our guidelines, please contact TRGAdm or MTGAdm before taking any action. For Group Consciences, please notify TRGAdm or MTGAdm so that they may work with you to facilitate it.

QUALIFICATIONS OF TRG COORDINATORS AND MEETING LEADERS

from one hour per month to fulltime, please contact TRGAdm@TheRecoveryGroup.org.
The Recovery Group is unlike many other online support loops on the Internet. It is a community. Composed of hundreds of 12 Step Support Loops, Online 12 Step Meetings, a 4-Part Newcomer Program, a WTS and Big Book study ongoing every day of the year, a Sponsor Program, it's own monthly Newsletter, a 4000 page Website and so much more, it is a Fellowship for men and women world-wide who want to work our program of recovery.
Because we are a community, we ask all our Coordinators to experience our meetings ... and we ask all our Meeting Leaders to experience our support loops. By giving service in both areas, we avoid fracturing our community into two parts and instead make our Fellowship one of being a **Community** rather than a lot of individual parts floating around Cyberspace. The Recovery Group is autonomous and not affiliated with any other organization. We are devoted to the Twelve Steps and Traditions and these are our Guidelines.
In addition, all Coordinators and/or Meeting Leaders of The Recovery Group shall:
- Be working and living a 12 Step program.
- Have been an active member of TRG and/or OA for a period of no less than 3 months
- Read and commit to TRG's Guidelines and Traditions.
- Read and understand the Trusted Servants' Training and Sharing pages.
- Coordinators shall read their loops' mission statement and the Coordinators' Website.
- Mentor with an experienced Meeting Leader and/or Coordinator.
- Commit to serving until the end of the term, which currently is December 31 of each year.
- Leave their Trusted Servant position mid-term only in the event of an emergency.
- Have access to a personal computer.
- Meeting Leaders should be a participating member of a TRG 12 Step Support Group.
- Meeting Leaders are asked to attend five Starchat Training Sessions, three before receiving OPs.
- Coordinators should learn about and participate in TRG 12 Step Meetings.
- Be personally responsible for all services needed by their support group or delegate others. Commit to recruiting, training and supervising them. (Please ask Mtg. Adm. or TRGAdm. for a list of specific duties expected of our Meeting Leaders and Coordinators.)
- Please communicate with MTGAdm (Meeting Leaders) or TRGAdm (Coordinators) immediately when a member requires moderating.
- TRG Coordinators and Meeting Leaders shall be patient and correct people regarding inappropriate sharing privately and in kind, gentle and loving ways. In the event of blatant spam, porn or misconduct, Coordinators and Meeting Leaders should take immediate action. Meeting leaders should first primate message the disrupter and be prepared to enlist the help of a Starchat techie. There is also a procedure called "moderation" that Coordinators are called upon to do in the event of a loop disruption. Both Coordinators and Meeting Leaders shall send a detailed report to their respective administrators once the emergency has been attended to.
- Be an example for others by sharing personally in a 12 Step Way, not using inappropriate signatures on TRG communications, and, if at all possible, writing your members individually and privately as your time permits when you think a note would be appreciated.

(Informal Discussion Groups For Trusted Servants of The Recovery Group)
The Business Division of The Recovery Group is not for general sharing groups, although each includes specific kinds of sharing. This division includes TRG's many groups designed to conduct business matters related to the management of our groups and, as such, works closely with the respective Trusted Servants of each group.

The Recovery Intrgroup is a 'working' intergroup. By that we mean that during a period of an issue which requires a new policy of TRG or changing an old one, each member of the Intergroup will be expected to read all voices heard in the discussion leading up to a fully informed group conscience. It is hoped that each coordinator and administrator can participate in this; however, we do understand time limitations and this group is a volunteer group and not a required one. If you are a Coordinator or Administrator with a good overall knowledge of The Recovery Group community, you are invited to join. If you don't have the time or inclination, you can appoint someone to represent your group as long as they are familiar with TRG. Group Consciences can be held at several different levels of TRG activitiy: the loops, the meetings, MtgAdm, TRGAdm, TRG's Executive Committee or, in some cases, the Recovery Intergroup. The slate of Trusted Servants will be submitted to the 2008 Intergroup. We will send you instructions early in 2010 how to participate in the 2010 Recovery Intergroup.

RECOVERY ONLINE OA MEETINGS
Every Three Hours Daily beginning at Midnight Eastern Time We'd like all Coordinators to become familiar with our meetings and all Meeting Leaders to be familiar with our loops. The ideal combination is to have a Trusted Servant lead one meeting a week and coordinate one support loop.

It is more difficult for a Trusted Servant online and even moreso for face-to-face to remain totally anonymous. Online Trusted Servants have the advantage in that it is okay if you would like to use a pseudonym in our organization. We would appreciate, however, your always identifying yourself and providing a contact number for TRGAdm and/or MtgAdm. |
