Welcome to The Recovery Group, a community of many 12 Step resources for those who suffer from food addictions and other eating disorders. As you roam around our website, you will find groups of all kinds to help you. On this page you will find meetings for newcomers to the 12 Step program.
Meetings held in the #OARecovery meeting room on Starchat's IRC Network continue to meet in that room; however, they are no longer "TRG Meetings." The reason is fairly simple. TRG has approximately 100 12 Step support loops for thousands who suffer from eating disorders like compulsive eating, anorexia, binge eating, etc. and OA considers ***ALL*** groups not in "real time" to be an "outside interest." This is, of course, wrong, and not based on any tradition. Further, TRG operates on inclusion rather than exclusion and we wanted our 56 beloved meetings to be able to continue meeting in our room called #OARecovery. Since OA does not allow #OARecovery members to use all the doorways we have set up for this room, you can find the schedule for those meetings and a doorway by going to 12StepMeetings@yahoogroups.com. You can also receive a weekly update on those meetings by sending a blank email to: MeetingSchedule-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. The contact address for #OARecovery meetings is MtgContact@yahoo.com.
All TRG meetings are being held in our private room called #Recovery on Starchat and will be sponsored by our individual 12 Step support loops beginning June 2013. For now, we have very special Newcomer Meetings and invite all newcomers to attend those. The doorway on this page leads to #Recovery. We hope to see you often there. The only requirement to attend meetings in #Recovery is to have the desire to quit eating compulsively.
