RESTRICTED ACCESS REGISTRATION
When the situation warrants, our meetings network, StarChat, will restrict certain Internet Service Providers (ISPs) from allowing their clients to speak on the network. Usually this is due to an abusive user who is evading bans and their ISP will not suspend their account.
People who use those ISPs with restricted access must be registered and perform a different identify command in order to speak on StarChat.
RESTRICTED INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS

ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERNING AOL MEMBERS
AOL users are "invisible" until they have registered their nicknames with StarChat. Instructions for registering your nickname are found here.
Basically the information below is accurate ... but it would be best to go directly to the Starchat web page.
After your nickname is registered, you will have to type a special command every time that you attend a meeting. You type this command in the same place that you type to share.
The command is ... /quote identify password (where "password" is the personal password that you specify when you register your nickname.)
AOL users are able to attend meetings without registering their nicknames, but will not be able to share or send messages to other members.
If you have any problems or questions, please write to Recovery Tech.
