TOLERANCE
The meeting today had a topic from the AA Big Book, page 84. It said:
"Love and tolerance of others is our code."
I am really practicing tolerance of others right now. I have so many different people with all different personalities in my life that it can be hard to be tolerant, especially when I don't agree with someone's viewpoint. I had an incident where I had bought something off of ebay for my son for his birthday. It was advertised as all being there and looking like it had only been used once. We got the item together and it was missing 4 parts, was dusty, etc. I emailed the woman who sold it to me and she turned completely nasty about it.
After listening to a crying child for 3 days, I was ready to turn nasty as well. Each time I corresponded with her, I typed up the email, saved it and thought about it for at least 3 hours before sending it. I even got other's opinions before I sent it. In the past, I would have sent a nasty email immediately, not caring about her feelings or the repercussions to myself. That's progress.
