He really does. For example, yesterday I was burning some incense in the living room. It was really two sticks stuck together and I should have probably taken them apart before lighting them and putting them in the burner. I was out in the kitchen doing dishes and Piper, my 22-month-old, came out saying "yucky" and pointing to the living room. Well, I didn’t think much about it, but she stayed in the kitchen with me. A minute or so later I stepped over and felt something really hot on my foot. I looked down and it was part of the incense stick. Piper must have brought it to the kitchen and without being burned. I ran into the living room and sure enough, there was part of the stick on the floor burning. God gave me exactly what I needed without anyone getting hurt (except of course my foot, but who cares in the whole scheme of things.)
I know that if I ask for what I think I need I don’t always get it; but, I also know that sometimes what I think I need isn’t always what I really need. I firmly believe that God never gives us more than we can handle and he gives us things, even seemingly bad things, to strengthen us or to help us to get where we are supposed to be at that moment in our lives.
