DAY TWENTY SEVEN ~ MEETING TWENTY SEVEN
TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF

When you are a mom, it is hard to find any time to take care of yourself. I have two small children, Trey will be four in July and Piper will be two this month, and I am due September 25th with our third and probably last child. I am lucky that I find time to get a shower each day. The only time that I have to myself is if I actually force them to take a nap and I usually end up falling asleep with them. (I guess if I am napping, that is a form of taking care of myself) At one point, I really felt like I had lost myself within my children. I felt like I had no identity any longer and part of me getting my identity back is thanks to the service I have been providing for TRG. OA is something separate from my kids.

I have found that sometimes, I just have to have a child on my lap during an online meeting or I have to allow them to be in my way when I do my workout and they want to join in. I have also found that if I tell Piper to go get some books, she will sit next to me on the couch and read while I am doing my reading and both of my children like to say prayers with me. Any time actually really by myself is very slim and I tend to take that time to get cleaning done or to take care of other obligations. Sometimes, it would be good to slow down and say, "hey, I count too."

Until tomorrow ~
I'm Kim
