I'm delighted to share with you the message of the meeting I attended
earlier today. It was informative and powerful as we discussed in the
AA/BB, the importance of our Higher Power.
As we grow in our program we owe much to our Higher Power who deserves all
the credit for sustaining us in our recovery. As people shared today, i've
come to believe that my Higher Power above anything else is what has been
helping me most with my recovery. I must never forget that before I
entered recovery, "I was powerless over food, and my life had become
unmanagable." It was true for me then, and without my Higher Power, it is
true for me now. Several shared in the meeting that they have no power of
their own, and they have no willingness of their own except for the
willingness and strength given to them by their Higher Power.
In our meeting today a short paragraph on page 47 in the AA/BB was read....
"We Agnostics" was referenced. It states: "We needed to ask ourselves but
one short question. Do I now believe, or am I willing to believe, that
there is a power greater than myself? As soon as a man can say he does
believe, or is willing to believe, We emphatically assure him that he is on
My comment is, after relapsing over and over again for more than two years,
I can honestly say that after finally turning to my Higher Power, I am
having positive results once again. I am improving in my spiritual fitness
everyday through meditation and prayers.... and just whatever simple means,
that makes me feel closer to my Higher Power.
