Today's meeting had a topic from "Just For Today." It was:
"I will have a quiet half-hour all by myself and relax. In this half-hour sometimes I will thank God, so as to get a better perspective of my life."
A whole half an hour by myself to relax? I'm lucky if I can find 5 minutes with these two kids running around! In order for me to have any time with God, it sometimes has to be in inopportune places. The other day it was in the shower that I said my morning prayers. Or, I might be driving down the road, talking to God. Imagine what all the people I pass think, but God doesn't care. The important thing is that I am spending that time with Him and I know that my day will go much better if I take the time to do so.
I get lucky once in a while in that my husband takes the kids to the store or anywhere, and I get to spend some quiet time alone. When this happens, I retreat to my bedroom and get my daily meditations out and I just talk. I used to have this perception of a "certain way to pray." I have since realized that again, God doesn't care. I just talk to Him like I would talk to my husband or a friend and I know He's listening (much better than the husband does!)
Until tomorrow ~
I'm Kim
