Oh, how this topic hits home for me. I struggled so long with finding my HP and with believing in Him. By the time I came to start a relationship with Him, I though maybe it was too late. Even since I found Him last August, long before I came into the program, I haven't kept up my end of the relationship. Whether I let kids or time restraints or sleep get in the way, there were days where I forgot to pray or just didn't take the time. The differences in my days were astounding when I took the time to pray.
Rather than write anymore, I would like to share a poem that you may have heard before. It's an incredible testament to why I need to take time each day with my God.
The Difference
I got up early one morning and rushed right into the day.
I had so much to accomplish that I didn't take time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me, And heavier came each task.
Why doesn't God help me? I wondered.
He answered, You didn't ask.
I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on, gray and bleak.
I wondered why God didn't show me.
He said but you didn't seek.
I tried to come into God's presence.
I used all my keys at the lock.
God gently and lovingly chided, My child, you didn't knock.
I woke up early this morning and paused before entering the day.
I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.
